Ephesians 5:15-17 (CSB), “Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk — not as unwise people but as wise — making the most of the time, because the days are evil. So don’t be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.”
Each day, followers of Jesus should seek to grow closer to Him. This involves intentionally laying down our selfish desires and picking up our Cross to pursue what He has for us (Luke 9:23). To do this, we must “make the most of the time,” as Paul encouraged the church at Ephesus. If we aren’t strategic in this effort, we could easily fall into the trap of being “foolish.” It’s also important to “pay careful attention, then, to how you walk — not as unwise people but as wise,” because the world is watching, and the Enemy is seeking whom he can devour (1 Peter 5:8).
Below are three daily steps (along with practical examples) for being purposeful in your walk with Jesus.
